Knafs@Nite - November 22, 2024

Hello Everyone and welcome to the latest episode of Knafs@Nite - our weekly video round-up where we share with you all the exciting things about Knafs and the world around us.

We've got Kyle from Work Sharp in the house with us today and that can only mean a few things. We don't yet know what those are so....

LET'S DIG IN!
(Did Ben just pull out a Lander Tanto? #lanto)

Kyle & Work Sharp

Who is Kyle?

For those of you who don't know, Kyle Owens is the Community Marketing Specialist at Work Sharp. What does that mean? He's the social guy! He also gets collabs going and has a great beard.

What is Work Sharp?

Work Sharp makes some of the best knife sharpeners out there today. From innovative designs to quality materials, if you can't sharpen a knife with a Work Sharp product, you're probably a dolphin.

Work Sharp Collabs

Work Sharp has worked with brands like Benchmade, CRKT, MKC and beyond. It makes sense, right? For almost everyone out there in the knife world - from brands to customers - Work Sharp has become the goto sharpening solution for knives of all shapes and sizes.

Where is Work Sharp Made?

Work Sharp products are generally made in Oregon. But they also work with China and Vietnam, with Work Sharp employees in the facilities over there. It's a good mix.

GIVEAWAY TIME (Man, that didn't take long..)

Kyle is giving away a Work Sharp Ken Onion Edition Mk2 Elite Knife and Tool Sharpener. Translation = the bees knees of knife sharpeners.

If that wasn't awesome enough, Ben just happens to have a Lander 2 Tanto and it's as beautiful as we've all been hoping it would be.

Click on this link for your chance to win two very awesome items just in time for Turkey Day!!!

Black Friday Stuff!
If you spend $100 on the Work Sharp website on Black Friday, you're going to get a free Folding Field Sharpener. Which is crazy because that thing is fried gold!
There's also a sweet offer to get a topo version of our Bit Driver as well as a another deal to get a custom, Work Sharp Knafs Lander 1. It's all about how much you spend.

Moon Crew Moment

Lance is a pull-through sharpener skeptic!

Should we use them? They have a bit of a stigma. Kyle weighs in.

Harrison wants to say Hello!

Yo, Harrison - Kyle says "hi"!

Elan wants a strop on the Folding Field Sharpener.

Is it worth it? Could it become a thing? Kyle absorbs the feedback.

Richard has a wicked complex question about steel and edge retention.

This is heavy, Doc! This is the debate of debates.

Robert wants more from the Professional Precision Adjust!

Kyle has a single word for you, amigo.

Zack comes at this whole thing from a different angle.

This is actually an excellent question. All the questions are - but this one is a hard hitter. Lots of debate around this one for sure!

JSH challenges Kyle to sharpen knives with Keith.

If this is your first time tuning in, Keith is a sharpening Miyagi. He could sharpen a cardboard box if you want him to.

If you want to be part of our “Moon Crew”, head right here to join up!

Ship Shape Sharpening Shop

Kyle and Keith do a sharpen-off with their respective sharpeners of choice. This is actually nuts. Imagine being in the shop when this was going down?

Way better than the Tyson/Paul fight.

Also - we get a little bit of a back story on Keith. This is a big deal. He's a bit of an enigma.

Product Spotlight

This week we're taking a look at our very own Docking Station

... and for good reason.

Mailbox

Knife Train!!!

@knifetrain311 sent us a train. But not just any train - a KNIFE TRAIN!

Scott's Grandfather's Knife

Every knife a grandfather made and used has an awesome story. This is one of the best.

We love getting mail here at the office. So, if you've got something weird and wild you want to send us direct it here:

Edge of Intelligence

This weeks prompt is a doozy. I mean - they all are - but this one - well, buckle up!

Fresh Prints

Kyle was a Broista!
Would you drink out of a 3D printed coffee cup? Wait. Hold on - would you drink steaming hot liquid out of a 3D printed coffee cup? How about one where the lid didn't fit? On a side note, 3D printed plastic is not food safe.  Don't do this.

Boom. Done!

There have you it! We really hope you got everything you expected and then some from this episode of Knafs@Nite.

Special thanks to Kyle from Work Shop for swinging by. Make sure to follow everything Work Sharp, including their YouTube channel where you can get the latest news, tips, and great stories in the world of Work Sharp.
