Hello Everyone and welcome to the latest episode of Knafs@Nite - our weekly video round-up where we share with you all the exciting things about Knafs and the world around us.
Mr. Andersen, I Presume?
For those of you who don't know David, he has been a staple at KnifeCenter in terms of providing valuable insight on knives, knifemaking, as well as his own knives.
Ben starts of by plying him with a Mexican lollipop and the promise of more food items throughout the episode is revealed.
Quick Sidenote: I was once handed a bundle of similar lollipops that we taped together then wrapped in plastic wrap in a cup. Then were then smuggled over the border and given to me by my brother-in-law. Those were an experience. I am sure these are too.
Anyway, onward..
Nordsmith Knives & Beyond
David is known for his insane amount of knife knowledge - captured in thousands of videos. He is also an accomplished knifemaker, being the brains behind Nordsmith Knives and working with other brands like MKM and - now - CJRB.
Here he talks to us about his upcoming knife - "The Maximal", from CRJB.
:: Spontaneous Funeral Potato Break ::
Then the boys go on to talk about what it's like being recognized in public, how David got his start and then FINALLY back to David's brand own; Nordsmith Knives (you can only look at a massive knife on a table for so long, wondering what it is!).
That knife is his Canteen Knife and David is having it made by L.T. Wright. If you remember from our announcement of the Large Lulu, those are also being made over at L.T. Wright.

Message to People Who Want to Get Into the Knife Industry.
It's a job, people. But David has some inside scoop that keeps the love alive.
Austin's Mustache
No, Austin isn't in this week's episode - but we gotta know how that lip broom is doing. If anyone can rock a solid 'stache - it's Austin.
MKM - Pocket Tango
Have you ever heard of a "pocket fixed blade"? David collaborated with MKM to design the Pocket Tango. These smaller-in-stature fixed-blade knives are designed to be carried inside your pocket for better concealment and easy access.
Be on the lookout for the only time in past - current - and future history where Nessmuk and Taylor Swift are mentioned in the same conversation.
Sidenote: If you don't know who Nessmuk is, this is a great opportunity to learn some zen about life in the outdoors, camping in general, and the thought process behind all of that and the tools we use. You can pick up Nessmuk's "Woodcraft and Camping" here.
Sidenote to the sidenote: If you don't know who Taylor Swift is, Ben's mom has threatened to stop making Frog Eye Salad until you YouTube Tay Tay.
"The Ergonomics on a Fixed Blade Are More Important Than On a Folder"
This is a rabbit hole worth going down.
Sheaths
If you didn't know, Ben LOVES UltiClips. They are hardworking and get the job done, but there is room to argue that. David has an equally job-getting-done alternative. We'll leave it up to you to decide which is actually "better".

New Brands
There is no ignoring that there are more knife brands than ever out there. Ben asks David to answer: How do knife brands stick around long term?
:: Chinese Snacking Plums, Tease ::
David asks Ben: What happened with you and Blade HQ?
This one will kind of make your heart stop for a second. Ben handles it like the gentleman he is. No hard feelings on either side, but here's a deep look into how Knafs became what it is today.
:: Chinese Snacking Plums Have Entered The Chat ::
David, enchanted by the plum experience, drops a hint about a future collaboration while pondering how he, himself, got to where is today.
Boom. Done!
