What?
A 5k fun run from the Waverly Hotel to the Chattahoochee River. No registration fee. Unsanctioned. Untimed. Probably unauthorized. Knafs, Carry Commission, and Worksharp are sponsoring it so the swag is free for participants.
Who?
Literally anyone. It's a 5K fun run. Or walk. Or wander. It's untimed. Non-competitive (unless Josh Warren turns up the heat on that last 200 yards again, then it's ON.) Do 1 mile. Do 2. Bring yo' kids. Bring yo' wife. Roll your husband's lazy a... er... your husband out of bed and bring him.
When?
Meet: Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 7 a.m. Eastern. Run starts at 7:10 a.m.
Swag?
Oh baby, yes! Everyone gets a t-shirt this year, sponsored by Carry Commission, Knafs, and Worksharp. They'll be super cool. You'll enter your size below when you sign up. Keep in mind: this is a FREE event, FREE t-shirt, but if you sign up, we're planning on you. Don't let us down. Registration closes May 1 so we can order the t-shirts. Registration isn't required to run, but it is required to receive a t-shirt.
Where?
In front of the Waverly Hotel.
Why?
It was approaching midnight in the Pit-- the rotunda bar at Blade Show Atlanta. 2023. I was standing there chatting with Cougar Kyle and Jordan from Carry Commission-- friends, knife guys, and runners. They invited me to join them the following morning for a pre-show run. I said yes. Then I said no. Too much going on. For the next 9 months, I received regular texts from Kyle and Jordan from their runs, adventures, and good times. "Pit to Fit" was born.
We want to go running during Blade Show. With friends. But there's more to it: We all have "Pits" we find in life: lack of fitness, harmful substances, negative thoughts, bad relationships, challenging situations, etc. etc. Pits are the worst, but they happen. There's an old story about a donkey who falls in a well. The farmer tries to pull up the old creature without success. He decides to finish the job and bury the animal and end the misery. As each shovelful of dirt lands on the donkey, the old ass shakes it off, takes a step up, then eventually climbs out of the pit. That's what Pit to Fit is about. Step up. Take control of your life. Pick your pit. Take 2 months to train, beat your pit, then come run with us.
