Knafs@Nite - August 23, 2024

These Knives are in Walmart Now!?!

Hello Everyone and welcome to the latest episode of Knafs@Nite - our weekly video round-up where we share with you all the exciting things about Knafs and the world around us.

Ben and Austin hit the ground running, teasing us about flint knapping, corn, and Walmart. But then jump right into the news.
Let's dig in!

The News

Some CIVIVI Knives Now Available At Walmart

Walmart has been upping their outdoor gear game quietly over the last few years by bringing in higher quality brands that people can rely on. Adding CIVIVI to that mix is a HUGE deal.
Ben Ponders if the the Baby Banter be should be available there and we get our first movie reference of the week.

Knives and Tools

If you've never heard of knivesandtools.com - here's your introduction to one of the biggest, if not biggest, knife and tool retailers in Europe! Ben sits down and shares a little bit too much information about new products - but we don't get to see it. However, he'll be in the Netherlands on September 7th if you want to find out more.

Read More About "Have A Knives Day 2024" here.

Can't make it to the Netherlands on the 7th? Well, how about Germany on the 14th? Ben will be handing out with the folks from Knife Lounge.

BushcraftKelso Beats Up A Lulu

@BushcraftKelso is a good fellow to follow on Instagram. Check out how he used and abused his Lulu as well as many other cool things that he features in his feed.

Kickstarter

This is the last week to snag your Lander 4 through Kickstarter. We just met another stretch goal, which is kind of corny, so let's try to meet the next one. Why? Because bandanas and corn go together like MagnaCut and Micarta!

National Knife Day - August 24th (that's this Saturday!)

National Knife Day is this Saturday, August 24th - and we've got some great deals on some of your favorite stabby and slicy things on the site.

.. as well as Mystery Boxes.

OH! Have you all heard about the New To Knives Lander 1 Bundle?

Now that we've mentioned it, you should click that link and check it out. We're going to be taking a little bit off the top on Knife Day so you or one of your loved ones can break into the EDC knife world with Knafs.

Moon Crew Moment

Ezikiel Spells With Knives

We think you nailed it, bud! #wild

Jon Gets Corny

This is just some more love for the Lander 4 corn scales. If you want to get a set, back our Kickstarter!

3D Prints

Don't think we haven't noticed you folks printing out and sharing Fitz' Prints. We're honored and excited to see what you guys come up with next!

If you want to be part of our “Moon Crew”, head right here to join up!

Ship Shape Sharpening Shop

This is a spot where Ben gets to show off the knives that come to Knafs for TLC. Every week is wilder than the last. It’s a great opportunity to see what people covet and what they want to be resharpened and cleaned up by the knife maintenance gnomes here at Knafs.

This week, Keith shows us why we trust him to grind dang near everything that comes in to the shop for some TLC. He can actually tell the angle of a grind just by smelling the blade. Also, he loves stuffed quesadillas.

Edge of Intelligence

First off, Austin shows how far we've come from flint knapped knives. Then we dive into the wonders of AI with this week's feline related prompt. Didn't we have a cat request last week too? We're sensing a theme.

Mailbox

We love getting mail here at the office. So, if you've got something weird and wild you want to send us direct it here:

Ben Buys A Flint Knapped Knife @ A Farmers Market

Flint knapping is one of the oldest ways to produce a functional blade for food prep, self defense, and anything else you might need a knife for in the age of dinosaurs (it's a few years after that, but still). Though we've come along way with knifemaking and sharpening, flint knapping is still a valuable and viable process.

Thanks, from Steve

People like Steve are one of the reasons why we do the things we do. Thanks for coming by, amigo.

Comments From Previous Episodes

These are comments pulled from previous episodes of Knafs@Nite. Look out for for callouts regarding a slip joint Lander, an act of chaos, and new knife scales.

Field Trip

We took last week off but are back at a trailhead for this week's adventure: 14 miles of fun with friends and five pounds of knives in the Uinta Mountains!

(Did I just catch a Big Agnes Prospector in there? Ugh. I'm such a gear nerd! - Nick)

Bottom Of The Barrel

What’s the worst seller of the week in the Knafs lineup? We only sell the things we think you want and need, but some of them ebb and flow.

This week's product is our Big Banter in black. The Big Banter was designed for folks with big hands, but we've found that everyone who gets their hands on it enjoy it. Perfect for spreading jelly - but, fyi - 20CV steel can do a heck of a lot more!

@jakefromohiostate - here's a dandy of a Knafs knife with a liner lock!

Fresh Prints

Shout out to our 3D printing gurus, Matt and Matt. Without them we wouldn't have these functional and fun prints for you to download and print out at home.

Knife Display Stand
Designed to hold 4-5 folding knives, snag this file and print it today.
The Squeaky Forklift
We don't have a direct link to the file for this print-in-place masterpiece by Matt  (totally another Matt), but Austin LOVES 3D show and tell and demands it happens every morning in the office.
Note: Austin really doesn't demand it. He's a wicked nice guy. We just bring 3D stuff and hang out with him every morning. No. Seriously.

Boom. Done!

There have you it! We really hope you got everything you expected and then some from this episode of Knafs@Nite. Make sure to subscribe to our channel on YouTube so you don't miss anything come out of the world of Knafs!

See you next time!
