Should Youtubers should be making Knives?

Zac Is In The House!

Hello Everyone and welcome to this week’s edition of Knafs@Nite!

This is our weekly video round-up where we share with you all the exciting things about Knafs and the world around us.

This week our buddy Zac (@zacinthewild) with Work Sharp Tools dropped in to talk about his wonderful adventures in wanderlust with “Work Sharp In The Wild”, as well as his new knife, The Yonder (which you’re all going to want).

But Ben isn’t holding back so let’s jump into it!

The News

Throw Your Ring In The Hat

After being locked in a cabin in the remote wilderness with Ben, Zac decided he wanted to design a knife. That became “The Yonder” which is being released through CIVIVI this fall. But what’s even cooler is that this knife won the “Best Buy Of The Year” award at Blade Show.

Ben and Zac talk about the knife industry, who’s designing knives today, and the feedback regarding the number of new knife makers out there. Then they both get really zen about why they like certain knives and what goes into them.

Did we mention this is the first knife Zac has ever designed? Talk about hitting the ground running. Congrats, buddy!

If you want more details about The Yonder, Blade HQ has the inside track on the specs.

The Work Sharp Quest Program

Zac talks about the Work Sharp Quest program. We talked about this last week a little bit, but Zac goes into more detail about where he’s been wandering around and hiding 35 of these overstuffed Pelican boxes - and what’s in them!

Don’t look for 27 yet. It’s in his hand in the video.

Also, we hope you like a little country music - because our buddy TC from Smokey Mountain Knife Works makes an appearance in this part of the video. HECK, we hope you like SMKW in general. They carry everything.

Ben also thinks knives have feelings. We really can’t argue that they don’t…

Moon Crew Moment

Eric Gets Scammed on Reddit

We’re honestly not sure if this is Eric from last week who wants an EDC pen, but this Eric got scammed on Reddit. This gives Ben a great opportunity to talk about Bladebinge. Bladebinge is a great place for knife enthusiasts to safely buy and sell their knives. Waaayyyyy better than Reddit.

Ronald’s Pocket Dump!

Pocket dumps are probably the coolest social media posts that exist. Ron shares his pocket dump with us and we’re stoked. Be on the lookout for a blink-and-you-’ll-miss-it appearance by Batman. No, seriously. He’s a friend of Ben’s. But it’s the Micheal Keaton Batman and not Michael Keaton. I know, wicked deep.

If you want to be part of our “Moon Crew”, head right here to join up!

Ship Shape Sharpening Shop

This is a spot where Ben gets to show off the knives that come to Knafs for TLC. Every week is wilder than the last. It’s a great opportunity to see what people covet and what they want to be resharpened and cleaned up by the knife maintenance gnomes here at Knafs.

Edge of Intelligence

This AI-inspired section takes a turn away from AI to Zac, who may be AI. He talks about one of the many books he reads on the road. The book Zac shares is “The Loop” by Jacob Ward

We won’t spoil the soup and tell you what it’s about, but it might be an interesting read for those of you wondering what an informed source thought AI would become before it became what it has become.

Mailbox (the section formerly known as “Mailbag” which may be called that again next week. TBD!)

Some Of Our Favorite Knifemakers Are Birds

What comes in the mail over at Knafs Headquarters? It’s not just the electricity bill and fliers about your car’s warranty. Sometimes it’s a cool knife!

This one from Schwarz Knives is a real dandy. It’s called the “Confidante”. You can customize your own right here.

If you want to know more about Schwarz Knives - and BRNLY Knives as well - you should check out TJ and Lucas’ “Edge & Flow” podcast.

Internet Mail

There’s a lot to unpack here:

  • Hate mail for Zac
  • A Lion King Moment for the memory banks
  • Love for Austin and Kurt
  • The death of Instagram is nigh

Light some candles while you watch this one. Maybe cook some bacon? Not sure.

Field Trip

We take a look at Zac’s cherry Toyota Tacoma in a random suburban neighborhood. Lots of talk about milkshakes, accordions, and cowboy hats. We know it sounds weird, but it really gels.

Question: do you eat a milkshake or drink it? No, seriously.

Bottom Of The Barrel

What’s the worst seller of the week in the Knafs lineup? We only sell the things we think you want and need, but some of them ebb and flow.

This week's product is our very own Lander 1 with Solar Flare Scales. Only 50 of these were made. You can get yours here

Fresh Prints

Who doesn’t love some cool custom 3D prints? How about the creative process behind the design of the Lander 4? Take a walk through the different 3D-printed versions with Ben. Also, get your very own Lander 4 through our Kickstarter.

In Closing: A Question For Zac

Zac waxes poetic about the tools he relies on and closes out this week’s show with some heartfelt zen.

Boom. Done!

There have you it! We really hope you got everything you expected and then some from this episode of Knafs@Nite. Make sure to subscribe to our channel on YouTube so you don't miss anything come out of the world of Knafs!

See you next time!
