Making Things is Hard! The Lander 4 Fixed Blade.

This is our weekly video round-up where we share with you all the exciting things about Knafs and the world around us.

This week, Ben and Austin hit the ground running discussing Karbon knives. Karbon is a collaborative effort between legendary knifemaker, Ken Onion, and Blue Ridge Knives. The guys discuss Karbon’s “Buckhorn” as well as Ken Onion’s impacts and offerings in the knife world over the years. Look for an action of Cold Steel’s Lynn Thompson doing what he does best.

And here we go!

The News

Think In Themes

Continuing the conversation about Ken Onion’s influence on Ben, he brings up the new Lander 4. The latest creation from Ben and Co, the Lander 4 has really made its mark - blowing the back end off of the Kickstarter campaign. Ben and Austin go over the decision of making this latest Lander a fixed blade as well as some of the reasons behind the specific details of the 2 variations of the knife. To secure your Lander 4, you can back the Kickstarter campaign here.

The Yipper

What the heck is the Yipper? What was the thought process behind this collaboration and what have been the challenges? Ben takes you on a magical journey through his mind from prototyping to the final product - as well as some challenges he faced getting the knife to where it is today. Look for some changes in the second run of this fun little knife that’s being made in collaboration with Maniago Knife Makers out of Maniago, Italy.

Moon Crew Moment

Zac Is Still At It!

If you’re not in the know, our friend Zac with Work Sharp Tools - who is the madman behind “Work Sharp In The Wild” - has been traversing the country hiding “Quest Boxes”. Ben and Austin talk about the latest box, who found it, and where it was found.

If you want to find one of these incredible stash boxes, follow  @worksharpinthewild on Instagram. Even if just for enjoying Zac’s bits of wisdom and his affinity for a good piece of pie.

Eric Wants An EDC Pen

Who is Eric? What’s he looking for in an EDC pen? Austin and Ben share their favorite EDC Pens from Big Idea Design. Also, Ben may have let slip that he’s working on a pen. Details to follow!

Alan is a Laser Wizard!

As you know, a big thing with our Lander knives is the fact that you can make custom handle scales. Over at Mountain Path Design, our friend Alan has created a wide range of custom scales for dress-up your favorite Lander. Check him out today. Fun Fact: Ben and Alan were high school buddies!

Ship Shape Sharpening Shop

Ben shares with us his Spanish skills and goes into some of the knives that have come through the shop that need a little TLC.

Edge of Intelligence

What’s in the top-secret envelope this week? Richard David from our Moon Crew presents an interesting AI-inspired situation to Ben and Austin regarding which knife brand would make it on the History Channel’s hit show “Alone”.

Field Trip

When the Knafs team was down in the Lone Star State for Blade Show Texas and had the chance to stop by and visit House of Blades. HoB has a couple of exclusive Banter variants that you should check out as soon as you have a chance.

Mailbag

What comes in the mail over at Knafs Headquarters? Well, how about a sharp and slick CJRB Nova? Customer Lander scales? This is also an opportunity for Austin to share his love and affection for Ruffles potato chips. Which, not for nothing, we can relate to.

Bottom Of The Barrel

What’s the worst seller of the week in the Knafs lineup? We only sell the things we think you want and need, but some of them ebb and flow.

You can stock up on Vibra-Tite by heading over here.

Fresh Prints

Who doesn’t love some cool custom 3D prints? The two items featured in this week’s segment are so cool that we’re not going to talk about them at all. But they are open-source prints that you can print at home!

OTF Fidget Knife files can be found here.
Looking to print a Chopsicle? Head over here.

Mailbag Reprise

How do you expect Ben and Austin to remember everything? This comment section covers some of the comments that were originally supposed to be shared 10 minutes earlier. It includes a stellar LOTR reference as well as a conversation about hairstyles that you would be remiss to miss.

Boom. Done!
