THE Lander 2 Moondust Micarta

The Lander 2 hit the scene in a similar fashion as the Landers before it - strictly in black and blue G10 to start. The whole point of the knife is to make it your own, right? Don't let us tell you what scales you need! Well, here we are, telling you what scales (or knife) you need...

Introducing the Lander 2 in Moondust Micarta! This is the same great Lander 2, but now outfitted with grippy canvas micarta scales. There are a few subtle differences between the Micarta version and G10 Lander 2 models that we need to clue you in on:

• This model features recessed scallops to make thumb stud access even easier than before
• Because of the contoured nature of these handle scales, the pocket clip and clip insert screws are ever-so-slightly longer. It helps to reach through the scales and get the correct purchase on the liner below
• The stonewash finish on the blade is much lighter than the blue G10 model. In turn it creates a deeper gray color on the blade and hardware - which pairs nicely with the green micarta!

This is a wonderful knife with a super tight lockup and silky smooth action. It's easy to maintain and clean and the price is well below what competitors charge for this quality. It's lightweight but large enough to be an effective EDC and all-purpose utility knife. It's spent several days with me in the high desert getting plenty of use in and out of door. My only regret with this knife is not getting it sooner.

This is my second Lander 2 and I think it’s great. I have a large collection of knives and my Lander 2s are at the top of my list of favorites. Some in my collection are much more expensive than the lander 2 but I ended up not liking them as much. I’m rethinking what I look for in a knife and the lander 2 has everything I want. Like Goldilocks and the three bears. It’s just right. Thanks Ben.

MICARTA HANDLES

What makes micarta so special? Well shoot, we'd love to tell you. Micarta is a fabric that is incredibly strong, lightweight, wears well, and is durable. It has many applications in industries with no room for errors -- like on the brake systems of airplanes, or in x-ray machines. Micarta can handle high heat and rough elements, and is a scale material that performs well even after it's wet. If you're using your knife in a setting that is going to get messy, micarta gives you a steady grip for the entire task and cleans up well afterwards. Plus, it just looks gooood.

S35VN STEEL

S35VN has been widely adopted as a common steel by a multitude of knife brands because it’s well-balanced. It does a great job at resisting corrosion, it’s tough and abrasion-resistant, and it holds a good edge. It’s also easy to sharpen.

BIGGER AND BETTER

The Lander 2 is the evolved version of the Knafs Lander 1. Think of the Lander 2 as our Apollo 12 – the refined mission after the groundbreaking success of Apollo 11. It's slightly larger with a new clutch lock and higher quality steel. It's all about doing it again, but better.
